To all,
How many people would be interested if I said that I've recorded a
slow and simple arrangement (possibly eighties folk-pop, with something
violinesque as the lead instrument), to go with lyrics that I wrote in
the mid nineties?
The music track is available by email, and is a little larger than
two megabytes. If more than five people want it, I'll probably put it
online for a while. Lyrics not included (except in text form). I don't
think my voice is quite right for this; I'm too low-pitched for it IMO.
Thematically, the lyrics are nothing special. Just your standard pop
music searching-for-love sort of thing. Nothing that would entice me
to buy an album, but good enough for the purpose of having fun making
music without taking it very seriously. I will be pleasantly surprised
if someone who can sing somewhat soppy lyrics without feeling totally
embarrased about it (and has suitable software such as Audacity)
volunteers to record a lyrics track.
I'm just having fun here, and would like other people to have fun with
me, at least by listening.
I was also inspired by a desire to deworm the songs (eighties
folk-pop) that were playing when I went shopping earlier today. It
was actually a really weird feeling. I heard a song today that I
haven't heard in a very long time (perhaps _since_ the eighties, who
can say?) and it tickled some dark forgotten corridor of my mind. Like
opening a wardrobe and finding, instead of Narnia, your own childhood.
Quite pleasant on the whole, but _weird_, and I can only take so much
weird before I need to deworm.
Adrian.

Well, I would. You're the only non-famous (FaCVoF) person with his own
section on my iPod.
Incidentally, here's something I wanted to share, since Adrian brings up
music.

I love the violin, I use to play it in Primary School, but have forgotten
it all now. As for your voice, I can't stand the sound of Bob Dillon's
voice, and look how far he got singing folk-pop style music!
I too would love to hear your songs, and what you sound like Adrian, and
very much look forward to their arrival!
All the best

I duly sent the arrangement along to Stacie and Sofia last night. I
hope it gave them pleasure. :-)

I listened to your arrangment several times Adrian, but the lyric's were
so sad, I think I wanted to cry more than smile. I've sent you an email
though of what I thought of it too - it was very touching, and it's a
shame alot more people never wrote to hear it - but that's their loss, it
was beautiful!

Thanks. :-)
I'd been earwormed in the store that day by a by-no-means-unpleasant
song with a title starting with HA sung by a woman whose initials
begin with LR (and that's enough hints for the curious), so I treated
myself by creating a new arrangement of a song I originally wrote when
I was approaching the end of my school years. I'm happy with my
arrangement.
Adrian.
